What is NYU Heop?
Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) at NYU is sponsored jointly through a grant from the New York State Education Department and New York University. Our program provides a means for traditionally underserved, low-income New York State students to obtain admission as well as academic and financial support.
Who is eligible for Upward Bound?
Students must have completed the 8th grade, be between the ages of 13 and 19, and have a need for academic support in order to pursue a program of postsecondary education. All students must be either from low-income families or be potential first-generation college students.
What is Upward Bound scholarship?
Upward Bound provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance. Upward Bound serves: high school students from low-income families; and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor’s degree.
Does Columbia take transfer students?

How long is Upward Bound?
No Upward Bound is a four year pre-college program. We will not under any circumstances accept a student just for the summer program.
Does Heop cover full tuition?
What does HEOP cover? The majority of the cost of tuition, fees, books, and parking will be covered by HEOP if you meet the New York State low-income guidelines. Child care assistance may also be available if you have children who need supervision while you attend classes and earn your degree.
Does Columbia have Heop?
Selection for the HEOP/NOP programs at Columbia involves meeting both academic and economic guidelines. There are no additional application forms for HEOP/NOP; all eligible applicants to Columbia will be considered for these programs, but applicants may be contacted for an interview.
