Practising teachers and leaders must continue to meet each of the five standards as they fulfil their work. Beneath each of the five standards there are a number of elements supported by a range of descriptors.
How long do I have to complete my NQT year Wales?
Length of the induction period NQTs who are not employed on a full-time basis must complete 380 school sessions. NQTs without regular employment (for example, those working as short-term supply teachers) will accrue sessions until 380 school sessions have been completed.

How is NQT year assessed?
At the end of each of the three terms, you will be formally assessed by your school leader (usually the head-teacher) and induction mentor. Following the last assessment, the leader will write to the appropriate body and determine whether you have passed the right criteria to be a teacher.
