NQTs are entitled to: support and guidance from a designated induction tutor who has the time and experience to carry out the role effectively. a reduced timetable to enable them to undertake activities in their induction programme. observation of the NQT ‘s teaching and follow-up discussion.

How is NQT year assessed?

At the end of each of the three terms, you will be formally assessed by your school leader (usually the head-teacher) and induction mentor. Following the last assessment, the leader will write to the appropriate body and determine whether you have passed the right criteria to be a teacher.
