What thickness is FEP?
FEP sample package THICK – 0.010″ – 0.020″ and 0.040″ film If you are already sure which thickness to use, but you want to test the qualtiy of our products, you can always order a small piece of our “cut to size” items in the thickness that is best suitable for your application.
What is FEP in printing?
Material. FEP is a fully fluorinated polymer, a family of plastics well known for its anti-stick properties. FEP is an extrudable material and brings the properties of fluor-polymers to 3D printers. Apart from the anti-stick properties, it has a low coefficient of friction and very high weathering and UV stability.
Can you cut FEP to size?
If you make your FEP too tight, you risk tearing it during a 3D print, which would be a terrible scenario. When you have tightened it to the proper levels, cut it with a sharp razor, making sure to be careful where your hands are while cutting.
Can FEP be to tight?
In addition, the build platform needs to be precisely leveled and the contact with the FEP film should not be too loose or too tight as it may lead to sticking or other printing problems.
How does FEP work?
The FEP film is the double-layered and transparent foil installed in the rack attached to the resin tank. It creates a clean way for the UV light to cure liquid resin during the whole printing process.
What are FEP samples?
Fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) is a copolymer of hexafluoropropylene and tetrafluoroethylene. It differs from the polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) resins in that it is melt-processable using conventional injection molding and screw extrusion techniques.
How often do you need to replace FEP film?
50-75 prints
FilamentOne recommends replacing FEP film after 50-75 prints depending on maintenance, clean with 91% IPA and MicroFiber towels to ensure long life, only use soft plastic scraper tools in vat, no metal or sharp objects.
What happens if FEP film is too tight?
But if the Fep is worn or too loose or too tight, it may affect the peel force, resulting in the sticking problem. The editing of the part itself, such as improper placement of the angle, hollowing, punching, etc. may result in excessive peel force/separation force, which may also lead to sticking.
How often do you replace FEP?
How do you loosen a FEP film?
Before you start, clean the tank thoroughly and wipe it clean. Use T20 Torx key to loosen the screws. Remove all screws and gently press your fingers against the used FEP film to release it. DON’T use a cordless screwdriver, as it has too much torque.
